Tim Schrader, M.D.

Dr. Tim Schrader is originally from Germany and moved to the United States at the age of seven. He graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University’s School of Engineering in Louisiana where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He also completed his residency at Tulane University. Dr. Schrader then completed a sub-specialty fellowship at Harvard University Children’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Schrader also completed a Mueller Foundation Hip Fellowship in Bern, Switzerland. 

Throughout his training, he has developed a specialized interest in hip conditions and preservation for patients of all ages. He is one of few orthopedic surgeons in the southeast who perform surgical dislocations of the hip (SDH) and periacetabular osteotomies (PAOs). He also specializes in minimally invasive hip arthroscopy and he has been accepted into the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy. Dr. Schrader is proud to be named the only IHDI (International Hip Dysplasia Institute) physician in Georgia. 

Dr. Schrader is currently the Medical Director of the Hip Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Schrader performs a broad range of hip surgical procedures at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite hospital, Meridian Mark Outpatient Surgery Center, Northside and Northside Hospital Sandy Springs Outpatient Surgery Center.
